RETHINKING PERFORMANCE & WELLBEING

The conditions in most workplaces are not designed to support healthy high performance. Knowledge workers perform well despite the conditions, not because of them.

Our research project aims to discover how organizations can create the conditions for their people to experience both high performance and high levels of well-being at the same time.

Over the last 3 years I’ve been leading a global research team to look at how people can perform, and grow at high levels without the risk of burning out. In the first phase of the research, we focused on what individuals can do for themselves. You can read about our findings below.

In phases two, we are looking at what teams and organisations can do to create the conditions for their people to keep performing, keep growing and stay healthy.

THE RESEARCH PROCESS:

INTERVIEWS
We interviewed successful performers from diverse domains such as: leaders, entrepreneurs, navy seals, surgeons, professional athletes, musicians, educators, priests, professional sports coaches and yoga instructors.

ASSESSMENTS
We measured individuals on their levels of: growth focus, performance focus, motivation, values alignment, burnout risk.

FOCUS GROUPS
We brought groups together on key topics e.g. Burnout, Growth and Performance

WRITING
We share and test out ideas on Linkedin 

WORKSHOPS 
We are conducting workshops where we share insights and create discussions with leaders, staff and teams

REGENERATIVE CULTURES
We are studying organizations who create healthy cultures (high performance and energizing)
